Web
designing (Tips/Check list):
1. You may have
a large IT department but do not depend on them if they have no experience
in web hosting and design. Outsource if necessary. You have to remember
that your website is a form of advertisement, IMAGINE asking your product
engineers or R&D engineers to design your print ad copy for you?
2. Do not let an
advertising agency without experience in handling your website. They
will have a big fight with the web administrator on design.
3. Great, if your
homepage look fantastic which most likely you may win the academy award.
But if it takes ages to download, nobody will visit your site!
4. Set your objective
right in the first place. The design will be dependent on what you want
out of your site. A website have other functions besides looking pretty.
It is interactive, responsive and dynamic.
5. Is your website
fully functional with no dead links and all pages displaying correctly?
6. Do you have a
way for customers or visitors to contact you, whether by email, telephone
or fax?
7. Is the product
your company is selling something that is truly worth buying? There
is still a lot of paranoia these days about buying things on the net.
Your visitors will not buy something unless they really NEED or WANT
it. A brand new product or book is a good thing to sell, a new type
of can opener or laundry detergent will most likely bomb.
8. Is your online
ordering system (if you have one) secure? You don't want to find yourself
in legal trouble if a customer sues you for damages over credit card
information that was obtained from your site!
9. Is your web page
attractive and full of useful, relevant information pertaining to the
ideas or the products you are selling? Make sure it answers as many
questions as possible that visitors may have regarding your product.
* Besides having
a nice design, you need to have a good promotion.
